How do I learn differently than others?
ATL Skills
What is the CAT4?
CAT4 stands for Cognitive Abilities Test (4th Edition).
It aims to reveal your hidden potential by assessing your reasoning ability. Unlike other assessments like the SAT or GCSE, it measures a your natural ability and not what you have learned in the curriculum. It's standardized on around 25,000 children in the UK and Ireland.
Structure of the CAT4
The CAT4 test is a timed assessment of 72 minutes, taken under exam conditions.
You will be assessed through multiple-choice questions across four 'batteries':
Verbal reasoning
Quantitative reasoning
Non-verbal reasoning
Spatial reasoning
How long will it take?
The whole assessment will take four classes to complete, 3 for the test and one to make sense of your results with a qualified interpreter.
Should I prepare?
No need. This assessment and its results are meant to help you identify your thinking strengths and how you learn differently than others.
...So, don't stress.
Write a reflection on the results of your CAT4 assessment. (Write as much or as little as you like but remember, try.)
